“In His Own Image” is a magnificent original and unique prismatic oil pencil drawing on linen, hand-signed by the artist, humanitarian, and philanthropist, Red Skelton. The artwork is dated 1989. This drawing features two images of Red Skelton, one dressed as a young man, with a hat and cigar and another version of “Freddie the Freeloader” with a typical hat. Both Red and Freddie were regarded as extremely kind men who would take presents to hospitals at Christmas for the children. Freddie is Red’s alter ego and this painting portrays both of them perfectly. The drawing is magnificently framed using only the finest museum materials. The original drawing measures approximately 23” x 22.5” and is framed to a measurement of 34” x 34.5”.
